More voices, more listening, more impact.

Impact MÁS is the umbrella program for Miguel Andrés Sossa-Mardomingo's environmental and social impact work. It funds the leaders who will safeguard our planet's future and builds the human connection that makes that work possible.

One mission, run by people close to the work.

About

Named for perseverance.

Miguel Andrés Sossa-Mardomingo founded Impact MÁS to carry forward a story that started before he did. His mother arrived in the United States as a Cuban refugee at age 13; his father grew up farming the mountains of Medellín, Colombia. Both instilled in him a deep respect for nature, for learning, and for those most vulnerable to the world's hardest challenges.

MÁS, Spanish for "more," carries that story into every program under this umbrella: more opportunity, more representation, more human connection, more voices at the table where our shared future gets decided.

Miguel Andrés Sossa-Mardomingo, founder of Impact MÁS
"We are in the race of a lifetime to create a more resilient world. Yet today we lack the necessary voices and ideas of leaders from underrepresented communities who are often most overburdened by the adverse effects of climate destabilization." Miguel Andrés Sossa-Mardomingo · Founder

How it grew

Impact MÁS started with MÁS Mentors in 2004. Miguel and Marie-Lise Perrault then co-founded and funded the MÁS Scholarship at the University of Michigan's Erb Institute in 2024. In 2026, it grew to include La Mesa, co-created with Shane Mitchell, MA, LMHC, who has spent his career meeting people exactly where they are, in plain language, building the kind of closeness that helps people feel truly heard. Miguel brought the belief that this same instinct belonged outside a university, too.

Every future Impact MÁS program starts the same way: find the people already doing the work, and give them more room to do it.
